Charles August Schmidt and Jean Fulton Dumbreck

Jean Fulton Dumbreck was born 8th August 1887 daughter of William Dumbreck, (tailor) and Janet Fulton. She married Charles August Schmidt (Smith), 23; Mechanical Engineer on the 15th July 1909.  Charles was the son of Adolphus Peter Henry Schmidt who was born in Holstein, Germany in 1849, (Emigrant Home Manager) and Mary Schmidt (ms Gush). Charles Smith and Jean had 4 children; Jean, James, Dora and Charles.

Jean Fulton Smith (Dumbreck) died on the 1st May 1965 at the home of her daughter Dora Hunter in Stafford, England.

All the family assumed the name Smith except the eldest son Charles who changed his surname to Dumbreck on the 4th April 1940.

As Charles August Dumbreck was the only male to take the name of Dumbreck, he continues the Dumbreck family name.
