Thomas Dumbreck was born 1840, and died 9th July 1908.  He purchased 5¾ acres for five hundred and thirty pounds also in Kapunda in 1875, he married Ann Martin (presumably in Scotland in 1871).

Thomas arrived in Sydney on the sailing ship 'Hampshire' in 1871. His wife arrived in Sydney on the 4th January 1872 on the sailing ship 'Galatea.'  The trip took 140 days. They had three children a son and two daughters,  we are not sure what happened to the son but the daughter, Kate (Catherine) Dumbreck married Rudolph Eberhart. They had eight children. The first four daughters were killed in a flash flood. They also had four sons.
