James Dumbreck was born 4th September 1808
(note date on page header is incorrect). He married Margaret Emslie in
Linlithgow Scotland on the 20th August 1830, was a carrier by trade and they had
5 sons:-

iv) Thomas Dumbreck born 8th November 1840 - married Ann Martin in Australia
Thomas and Ann had 3 children:-
i) William Steele Dumbreck

ii) Elizabeth (Bessie) Dumbreck born
about 1874
iii) Margaret Dumbreck born 23rd April 1888
nr Kapunda South Australia
iv) Catherine Mary Dumbreck born 2nd July 1889

v) William Dumbreck born 1843 - married Helen Francis O'Brian in 1872 - no issue
Thomas and William emigrated to Kapunda South Australia in 1874 and 1875 respectively.
The brothers carried on businesses as carriers, tanners and farmers until their deaths.
Thomas Dumbreck was born 1840, and died 9th July 1908. He purchased
5¾ acres for five hundred and thirty
pounds also in Kapunda in 1875, he married Ann Martin (presumably in Scotland in 1871).
Thomas
arrived in Sydney on the sailing ship 'Hampshire' in 1871. His wife arrived in Sydney
on the 4th January 1872 on the sailing ship 'Galatea.' The trip took 140 days. They had
three children a son and two daughters, we are not sure what happened to the son but the daughter,
Kate (Catherine) Dumbreck married Rudolph Eberhart. They had eight children. The first four daughters
were killed in a flash flood. They also had four sons.

born 1837 continues the "known" Dumbreck family line.
