John Dumbreck of Orton obtained one fifth lands of Barmuckity in 1511 (Sasine).  John died in 1518 and his young son William was made ward to James Currour in 1518. His daughter Margaret married in Elgin in 1525 to Alexander Cattourie.

The family line continued with William Dumbreck of Orton.
